We are considered an out-of-network provider for other MCOs and private insurance companies; however, we can provide information and support to assist the member in requesting a Single Case Agreement (SCA) to cover treatment and services offered at BlueRock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BlueRock accept North Carolina Medicaid insurance?

Yes. We accept NC Medicaid, including managed care plans. Coverage typically requires a medical necessity review. We handle the paperwork and coordinate with your care manager; families must keep Medicaid eligibility active throughout care. We are an established provider with Vaya Health and Healthy Blue Care Together. For other MCOs and insurance companies, we can work with the member to initiate a Single Case Agreement (SCA) to authorize treatment and request approval of our enhanced rate.

Will my private or employer-sponsored insurance cover Level II residential treatment?

Many private or employer-sponsored plans cover Level II when medically necessary. Coverage varies by plan, network status, and clinical criteria. We are considered out-of-network for private insurance plans/providers. Our admissions team will provide supporting information for you to contact the student’s insurer to find out what costs they will cover and, when appropriate, request a Singe Case Agreement (SCA) to authorize treatment at BlueRock. If insurance does not cover some or all services, we offer self-pay options and transparent estimates.

What costs might I still be responsible for?

Common out-of-pocket items include deductibles, copays, coinsurance, non-covered services, and any fees not included by your plan (e.g., certain assessments or supplies).

How fast can a student be admitted?

Timelines for admissions vary by clinical needs, insurance, and placement availability, ranging from a few days to several months. Call us to discuss timing.

Can we tour the program?

Yes. Pending receipt of your referral form and subsequent phone screening, we can provide an on-site tour or virtual walkthrough and introduce you to key team members.
