Helping Teens Build Strong Foundations

At BlueRock Behavioral Health, we are committed to helping teens uncover their inner resilience and give them the foundation to reach their full potential.

Healthy Relationships Inspire Healing & Growth

We believe the cornerstones of genuine change are:

Responsibility
At BlueRock, teens learn to own their choices without shame. Accountability is paired with compassion, so mistakes become opportunities to repair and grow. With coaching and clear expectations, they practice follow-through at home, in school, and with peers.
Principled Living
We help adolescents clarify their values and let those values guide daily decisions. Through routines, service, and goal setting, integrity becomes a habit, not just a word. Teens learn that living by principles builds trust and long-term confidence.
Physical & Emotional Health
Healing includes the body and the mind. BlueRock integrates movement, sleep, and nutrition with therapy skills for emotion regulation and distress tolerance, plus psychiatric support when needed. Teens learn to notice what they feel, ask for help, and choose healthy coping.
Family Relationships
Lasting change happens when the family heals together. We offer structured family sessions, communication coaching, and boundary setting so everyone has a clear path forward. Parents and teens rebuild trust and create a home that supports growth.
Respect
Every interaction starts with dignity and safety. We model empathy and curiosity, and teach teens to respect themselves, peers, and staff. A respectful environment makes honest conversations and real change possible.

Our Campus

BlueRock is an NCDHHS licensed Level II Residential Treatment Center dedicated to providing structured, 24-hour care for adolescents aged 13-18 who are navigating behavioral and mental health challenges. Our program offers support that is more comprehensive than outpatient care but less restrictive than a hospital setting.

What sets BlueRock apart is our fully integrated therapeutic model on our scenic 140-acre campus. Unlike typical Level II programs that require clients to leave the facility for essential services, we bring the care to them. Our clients benefit from continuous, cohesive support, including on-staff clinicians, instructor-led academics, and extensive experiential programming, all safely managed within the center. With round-the-clock supervision, we create a secure environment where youth can focus on mastering daily living and healthy coping skills to achieve successful re-entry into their home and community.

What is a Level II treatment center?

Our Level II treatment facility is a residential center that provides a 24-hour program addressing behavioral and mental health issues. It provides more support than outpatient care and less intensive than a hospital-based program.

BlueRock provides this structured, therapeutic care on a scenic, 140-acre campus. Our goal is to help youth practice daily living skills, learn healthy coping strategies, and re-enter their homes and communities when ready. Facilities are licensed by the state and operate under specific Medicaid rules for youth under 21.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BlueRock’s mission and approach?

Our mission is to provide a safe, relationship-centered residential program where teens stabilize, learn to manage distressing feelings and situations, and reconnect with family, all without losing academic momentum. We use predictable routines, strengths-based coaching, and coordinated school support to increase positive treatment outcomes.

What makes BlueRock different?

The BlueRock Difference:

We bring every aspect of a student's life under one roof. Our integrated model ensures seamless, consistent support from a team fully invested in each student's journey.

  • Integrated Clinical Care: Our on-site licensed clinicians provide continuous, trauma-informed care, eliminating the need for external appointments and focusing on building a young person's sense of agency.
  • On-Campus Academics: Our licensed, on-site school with in-person instructors ensures that students stay on track and find academic success in a supportive environment.
  • Experiential Programming: Our recreation therapist leads hands-on activities that help students move beyond their comfort zones, learning to collaborate and problem-solve in real-world situations.
How is Level II different from hospital programs?

Level II is unlocked, community-based residential care emphasizing skills, coping, and daily routines. At BlueRock, our Level II Residential Center is located on a 140-acre campus with separate buildings for dorms, dining, schooling, and clinical programming.

PRTF/hospital programs are more intensive, secure settings for acute stabilization. We help families understand which level fits current needs.

Who is on the BlueRock team?

A multidisciplinary group of licensed clinicians, teachers, nurses/med-techs, and residential mentors trained in adolescent development, safety, and trauma-informed care—working together with families and community providers.

What evidence-based practices do you use?

We blend skills-based and family-focused approaches (e.g., CBT/DBT-informed groups, motivational interviewing, parent coaching) with experiential learning, fitness, and academics to reinforce coping and communication.

How do you measure progress?

Through individual treatment plans, classroom benchmarks, behavior/skill tracking, and family feedback. The team reviews progress regularly to guide step-downs and tailor aftercare.

Are you licensed and overseen by the state?

Yes. BlueRock is licensed by NCDHHS and accredited by CARF. Staff training, reporting, policies and procedures, and other internal processes are evaluated annually by NCDHSR and CARF.

What happens after BlueRock?

We coordinate a personalized aftercare plan—outpatient therapy, med management, school supports, and community resources—so gains continue at home. We also help families schedule follow-ups and clarify what success looks like in the first weeks after discharge.

Mission

Our mission is to break the cycle of treatment for adolescents by guiding children and families into cultivating the kinds of lives and relationships we are intended to have – lives that are satisfying, healthy, filled with hope, and allow for healing & growth.
